I typically don't post portrait related news on my Soul Mates blog anymore because it all goes to my portrait brand, Melissa Tomeoni and it's facebook and twitter. BUT I know a tone of people look at this so I thought maybe you could help me out!

I'm looking for 4 more seniors for the class of 2012 to be reps for the year! It's a great opportunity to be yourself and have fun and fabulous. There are a few requirements because I'm looking for the right people. They must be outgoing, involved students in the class of 2012 in the greater Portland area. If you know of anyone who would be interested please send them over to my senior site or have them contact me at melissa@melissatomeoni.com

Thanks in advance for you help!!

I'm delighted to share Pua and Steve's portrait session with you! They met years ago at Chapman University in Orange, California (where our session took place). Almost 10 years ago there were married and have chosen to celebrate this moment in life by having their portraits taken where they first met. Darling.

Pua and Steve are jewelers over at AA Jewel Box in Tustin. You must check them out! Danielle's ring is from there and it is a beauty. They do custom jewelry work and have been a local business for many many years in the OC area.

Truth be told, in another 5 years I hope to be doing exactly what Pua and Steve are doing on exactly the same steps of Memorial Hall. I always encourage people to choose a location, outfit, or element that is sentimental. See, this is also where Josh and I met over 8 years ago and had our portraits taken for our save-the-date on these very same steps... and you know something, I hope to also stop by AA jewel box while I'm down there and get a little something sentimental for myself, if you know what I'm sayin! :)

From Bangkok we took a bus to the Cambodian boarder walked out of Thai customs, across the street, stopped at a health check point (a pop up table on the side of the road where we filled out a piece of paper) and finally walked through Cambodian customs. Once we were in Cambodia we then had to take a bus to the bus station (don't ask) and then wait for our bus to take us to Siem Reap (Angkor is located here) to hire a taxi to take us to our hotel. Needless to say I can't quite remember why we didn't fly, but I might recommend that in the future! Talk about a travel day.

I can't say kinder words about the Cambodian people and their food. It was delish! As a tourist, it was intense to be approached by everyone for anything. The thing is, they are so good natured you could joke and laugh with them even if you never bought anything. Angkor Wat was breathtaking. Again, if anyone wants details about anything, please write me and let me know. We did far to much to write here. We spent 2 full days; The first day we biked (bike rental: free) around and the second we rose at 4:30 for sunrise over Angkor Wat and hired a Tuk-Tuk for the entire day (private Tuk-Tuk rental + driver + water for entire day $18).

I'll let the photographs talk....

I just made that up. It is a happy Friday because it's sunny and it's photography cause that's what I do. No messing around here. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I also pray the weather people were wrong and this sun sticks around all through Saturday and Sunday.

Before I sign off for the weekend I've been working on this little guys 1 year old photo heirloom album. I love the collection this family has done. I've seen Jeevan in his parents maternity session, at 2 weeks old, at 6 months old and finally at a year old. It's been so fun to watch him grow and begin to explore this world! His parents have chosen three different 8x8 albums for each stage of his life. Each album is a different color but keeping will all the same earthy tones. I'll be doing the same thing when I have babies. It's just such a neat idea.

Here is a teaser from his 1 year old portrait session. He happens to sitting on the same structural cushion as he was as a newborn. A round of applause for his mom and dad-- for his outfit of course!
