Over the holiday I had the honor of photographing Jenn and Ray in Old Town Chinatown located in downtown LA. It was sunny (cheers from this Portlander!) AND it was full of fun textures and colors. I love having the opportunity to photograph people in locations that are meaningful to them. Ray actually pointed out this alleyway full of laundry and other fun gritty items. I may be a girly-girl, but I love me some reality.

I have a little surprise for you! I find this appropriate being that it's fall and things are new and exciting.

These two are darling. They are totally-enjoy-yourself-and-feel-at-ease-together people. I couldn't have been happier about the shades, the matching chucks, the ugly dolls! OMG the Ugly Dolls. I have to tell you, over Christmas a family member, shall we say, accessorized two Ugly Dolls turning them into a bride and groom. What a riot! I hope they make it to the wedding, I'd love to see them again!

I've had a pretty exciting week over here! Published 3 times makes a girl feel loved, for sure. I've been walking around with a extra big smile because of it (that, and Britany Spears tickets!!). Pua and Steve are jewelers over at AA Jewel Box in Tustin. You must check them out! Danielle's ring is from there and it is a beauty. They do custom jewelry work and have been a local business for many many years in the OC area.

Truth be told, in another 5 years I hope to be doing exactly what Pua and Steve are doing on exactly the same steps of Memorial Hall. I always encourage people to choose a location, outfit, or element that is sentimental. See, this is also where Josh and I met over 8 years ago and had our portraits taken for our save-the-date on these very same steps... and you know something, I hope to also stop by AA jewel box while I'm down there and get a little something sentimental for myself, if you know what I'm sayin! :)
